There is no fixed number of days, and GetClinic does not publish one. Where GetClinic is responsible for initiating or facilitating a refund, it will do so without unreasonable delay once your entitlement and the required transaction details are established. How long the money then takes to appear is decided by banks and card networks, not by GetClinic.
What GetClinic commits to
The commitment in the Refund & Cancellation Policy §19 is about initiation, not arrival. Once the refund entitlement and the transaction information needed to process it are established, GetClinic initiates or facilitates the refund without unreasonable delay. The Booking Terms §40 say the same thing.
Refunds generally go back through the original payment route where that is feasible. Another lawful route may be needed if the original payment method has closed, the payment processor cannot return funds that way, financial regulation requires a different method, or there is a reasonable technical limitation (Refund Policy §19).
Why there is no number of days
GetClinic cannot control how long your bank or card issuer takes to post a refund once it has been submitted. That is stated directly in the Refund & Cancellation Policy, and it is the reason no arrival date is promised anywhere in the estate.
The Refund Policy lists what the posting time additionally depends on:
- the clinic;
- the payment processor;
- the card network;
- your bank;
- fraud review;
- currency conversion;
- applicable law.
Any of those can add time to a refund that has already been submitted correctly. If you see a figure quoted for GetClinic refunds anywhere, it did not come from a GetClinic document.
Who sends the refund depends on what you paid
Deposits and treatment balances are refunded by different parties, because they are collected differently.
A clinic booking deposit is collected only through an approved refundable route. When a deposit refund is due, GetClinic initiates or facilitates it through that payment infrastructure (Refund Policy §17).
A treatment balance paid directly to the clinic is refunded by the clinic. GetClinic can facilitate communication, keep records and take marketplace enforcement action, but cannot return funds it never received or controlled (Refund Policy §17; Booking Terms §38).
Which of these applies to your payment is determined by the collection route shown at checkout. See when you pay, and who you pay.
Partial refunds, and the amount you see
Where only part of an amount is refundable, the transaction record should identify the original amount, any retained clinic charge, the amount refunded and the reason (Refund Policy §19). A cancellation at least 72 hours before the scheduled start is never partial: the unused deposit is refunded in full. The tiers are set out in cancellation and refunds.
If you paid in a currency other than your card's, the amount that comes back can differ from the amount that went out, because of rate movement or conversion applied by your own bank. See currency and exchange rates.
If a refund seems stuck
Your booking record, payment confirmation, refund status and transaction reference are available in your account where operationally possible (Refund Policy §25). Quote the transaction reference when you get in touch, because it is what a payment provider needs to trace a submitted refund.
Payment and refund questions go to [email protected]. Nothing in the policy removes rights you may have through your card issuer, bank or card-network rules, and you can use those alongside contacting GetClinic (Refund Policy §23).
GetClinic is a technology marketplace. The clinic you choose provides your healthcare and is responsible for it. This is general information about how GetClinic works, not medical advice. Only the clinic's qualified healthcare professionals can decide what treatment is right for you.
