Any converted amount GetClinic shows you is an estimate unless it says it is guaranteed. Nothing on the marketplace locks or holds an exchange rate. The currency you will actually be charged in is named in your clinic offer and again at checkout, and your own bank decides what conversion and fees it applies on top.
Prices may be shown in a currency that is not yours
Prices on GetClinic may be displayed in a currency different from your card or bank-account currency (Terms of Service §35). A price shown in your home currency is there to help you compare, not to fix what you pay.
Where a converted value is displayed, it is an estimate unless it is expressly identified as guaranteed (Booking Terms §27). Treat the figure as indicative and read the payment currency, not the conversion.
The currency you are actually charged in
The clinic offer and the checkout screen must identify the applicable payment currency (Booking Terms §26). That is the currency the transaction is processed in.
If your account uses another currency, your card issuer, bank or payment service provider performs the conversion at their rate, not at a rate GetClinic sets. Checkout also shows the final payment amount and the currency alongside the payment roles, so you can see both before you commit (Booking Terms §48). What each of those roles means is explained in when you pay, and who you pay.
Fees your bank may add
The Booking Terms list the charges you may incur from your own financial institution (Booking Terms §27):
- currency-conversion fees;
- foreign-transaction fees;
- card-network fees;
- bank fees.
These are imposed independently by your bank or card issuer. They are not part of any clinic booking deposit, and they are not GetClinic revenue (Refund & Cancellation Policy §20). GetClinic does not promise to reimburse third-party financial charges of this kind, except where the law requires otherwise.
If foreign-transaction costs matter to you, it is worth checking your card's terms before you pay a deposit or a balance.
Why a refund can come back a different size
If you paid in a currency other than your own, the amount that appears after a refund may differ from the amount that left your account (Refund Policy §20). Two things cause that:
- the exchange rate moved between the payment and the refund;
- your bank, card network or payment processor applied its own conversion in each direction.
Neither is a shortfall in the refund itself. A deposit refunded under the 72-hour rule is refunded in full: 100% of the unused deposit, returned through the original payment route where that is feasible. The refund tiers are set out in cancellation and refunds, and timing is covered in how long a refund takes.
What is not promised
GetClinic does not guarantee or promise that a clinic will hold a treatment price for any particular period (Terms of Service §23). There is no rate lock, no price lock and no price match. Any commitment about price has to come from the clinic and be stated in the clinic offer or the booking terms.
The clinic determines the treatment price, and the clinic offer must say whether that price is fixed or an estimate or a range (Booking Terms §6). Where further medical assessment could materially change the final price, the offer has to disclose that.
GetClinic is a technology marketplace. The clinic you choose provides your healthcare and is responsible for it. This is general information about how GetClinic works, not medical advice. Only the clinic's qualified healthcare professionals can decide what treatment is right for you.
