Most patients fly home on day 3 or 4. Office work with a hat is fine after day 10; client-facing work most patients delay until day 14. Final result settles between months 9 and 12.
Diagnosis and planning
Imaging, biopsy and a discussion of surgical and reconstruction options take place.
Pre-operative assessment
Blood tests, anaesthetic review and consent are completed.
Surgery day
Breast tissue is removed under general anaesthesia, sometimes with lymph node sampling.
Hospital recovery
Drains, pain control and wound care are managed over one to a few days.
Pathology review
