Stay & travel
From inquiry to your 12-month review
Most patients fly home on day 3 or 4. Office work with a hat is fine after day 10; client-facing work most patients delay until day 14. Final result settles between months 9 and 12.
Days before surgery
Pre-operative assessment with blood tests, X-rays, anaesthetic review and fitness check.
Surgery day
Knee replacement performed under spinal or general anaesthesia, lasting one to two hours.
Days 1 to 3
Hospital stay with pain control, wound care and first assisted standing and steps.
Week 1
Walking with crutches or a frame and starting daily physiotherapy exercises.
Weeks 2 to 3
Stitches reviewed; most patients are cleared to fly once swelling and clot risk settle.
Weeks 6 to 12
Progressive strengthening, improved bend and return to most daily activities.
Months 3 to 12
Continued rehabilitation with full recovery and maximal benefit over the first year.

How long does the implant last?
