Aftercare
From inquiry to your 12-month review
Most patients fly home on day 3 or 4. Office work with a hat is fine after day 10; client-facing work most patients delay until day 14. Final result settles between months 9 and 12.
Pre-arrival video call
30-minute call with your coordinator. Final graft plan confirmed, blood-test results reviewed, no alcohol or blood-thinners from today.
Check-in & hairline design
Hairline drawn with you in front of the mirror. Final graft count agreed and consent signed.
Extraction & implantation
Local anaesthetic only. Follicles extracted one by one with a micro-punch, then implanted into recipient channels. Approx. 6–8 hours.
First clinic wash
Nurse-led gentle wash. Crusts moistened, dressing removed, aftercare kit handed over.
Fly home
Medical-grade spray and written aftercare plan in your bag. No hat pressure on the recipient area for 2 weeks.
Crusts clear
Small scabs shed naturally. Avoid picking — follicles are still anchoring.
New growth begins
First thin hairs emerge. Density builds progressively over the next 6 months.
Final result review
Video call with the surgeon. Before-and-after photos compared; touch-up plan discussed if needed.
The questions you'd ask a friend who'd already done it
Is it painful?
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia; most patients feel only mild discomfort during the injections.
When can I return to work?
Most patients resume desk work within 2-3 days.
Are the results permanent?
Transplanted follicles come from genetically resistant donor areas and are permanent.
How many grafts will I need?
Typically 2,000-4,500 depending on the extent of hair loss on the Norwood scale.
