Stay & travel
From inquiry to your 12-month review
Most patients fly home on day 3 or 4. Office work with a hat is fine after day 10; client-facing work most patients delay until day 14. Final result settles between months 9 and 12.
Diagnosis and planning
Blood tests, ultrasound and sometimes a needle biopsy define the problem and plan.
Pre-operative assessment
Voice and calcium checks, anaesthetic review and consent are completed.
Surgery day
Part or all of the thyroid is removed through a small neck incision.
Early recovery
Calcium levels and the voice are checked; most people stay one night.
Discharge
Hormone or calcium supplements are started if needed before going home.
Follow-up
