From inquiry to your 12-month review
Most patients fly home on day 3 or 4. Office work with a hat is fine after day 10; client-facing work most patients delay until day 14. Final result settles between months 9 and 12.

Pre-operative blood tests, endoscopy or imaging and anaesthetic review

Laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery under general anaesthesia
Days 1-3
Hospital recovery, walking encouraged, sips of clear liquids begun

How much weight can I expect to lose?
Most patients lose around 60 to 70 percent of their excess weight over 12 to 18 months when they follow the diet and activity plan.
Will I need vitamin supplements?
Yes. Because the procedure reduces absorption, lifelong vitamin and mineral supplements with periodic blood tests are required.
Is gastric bypass reversible?
It is technically reversible but reversal is complex and rarely done; it should be considered permanent.
