Stay & travel
From inquiry to your 12-month review
Most patients fly home on day 3 or 4. Office work with a hat is fine after day 10; client-facing work most patients delay until day 14. Final result settles between months 9 and 12.
Pre-op liver-shrink diet begins
High-protein, low-carb diet to reduce liver size and surgical risk. Dietitian contacts you by video call with a meal plan.
Pre-operative assessment
Blood panel, chest X-ray, ECG, anaesthesia consultation and bariatric dietitian briefing. Nil by mouth from midnight.
Surgery
General anaesthesia. Five small keyhole incisions. 75–80% of the stomach removed laparoscopically, leaving a narrow gastric sleeve. Approx. 60–90 minutes.
ICU / recovery ward
IV fluids and pain management. Encouraged to sit up and walk within 4–6 hours. Sips of water started when peristalsis confirmed.
Ward recovery

Leak test

Mid-point weight review
Expected 50–60% excess weight loss by this point. Video with the bariatric team. Vitamins and labs reviewed.
One-year outcome review
