From inquiry to your 12-month review
Most patients fly home on day 3 or 4. Office work with a hat is fine after day 10; client-facing work most patients delay until day 14. Final result settles between months 9 and 12.
Day 0
Fat is harvested and grafted under anaesthesia; a compression garment is fitted.
Day 1
You avoid sitting directly on the buttocks and use a special cushion; soreness is normal.
Day 7
Sutures checked; sitting restrictions continue and flying is generally discouraged until later.
Week 2
Limited sitting on a cushion is allowed; return to light activity.
Week 6
Resume normal sitting and most exercise as grafted fat stabilises.
Month 3
Final fat survival is established and the shape settles.
Month 12
Long-term contour is confirmed with stable volume.

Will all the transferred fat survive?
A portion of grafted fat is naturally reabsorbed in the first months; the surviving fat then remains long term.
When can I sit normally?
Direct sitting is restricted for several weeks to protect the graft; a special cushion is used in the interim.
When can I fly home?
Flying is generally delayed and done with movement and care because of sitting pressure and clot risk; follow your surgeon advice.
